Refuges on Olympus

   
   
         
 

1st or Spilios Agapitos refuge
Built at an altitude of 2100m at the Balcony site of Olympus. Accommodates up to 100 people. Restaurant on premises. Open from the beginning of May to the end of October.

2nd or Vryssopoules or K.E.O.A.H refuge
It is located on the southern side of Olympus at an altitude of 1800 m above Mavratza ravine. However as the area belongs to the army, the military unit must first be notified, particularly in the winter months. The refuge does not provide blankets.

S.E.O or Giosos Apostolidis refuge
The highest refuge in the country, located at an altitude of 2700m next to Profitis Ilias peak. It accommodates up to 80 people and has catering facilities. Recently extended and renovated. Open from 15 June to 30 September and, weather permitting, also for the first half of October.

3rd or Kakkalos refuge
Found at the edge of the Muses Plateau at an altitude of 2650m, with a breathtaking view of the lofty mountain peaks as well as the sea. It accommodates up to 18 people and is open from 1 July to 30 September.

4th or Stavros or Dimitrios Boundolas refuge
Built at the site called Stavros next to the paved road at an altitude of 940 m. It can accommodate 16 guests. It has a well organized catering facility and functions mainly as a restaurant due to its easy access. Exquisite view of the plain of Pieria.
